Quote of the 'Here and Now'

"Now, here, you see, it takes all the running you can do, to keep in the same place. If you want to get somewhere else, you must run at least twice as fast as that!"

I miss my Sundays.

ohMy Sundays used to be made of waking up without an alarm, brunching with my girlfriends followed by a a spot of shopping or at least good dose faire du lèche-vitrine if too many cocktails were imbibed.  Walking the streets shopping  street vendors and into and out boutiques, was completely therapeutic for the ineluctable, dreaded start of work week even though I was in the middle of the busy, noisy city.

Today was the antithesis of the beautiful routine I once took for granted.  I enjoyed my lifestyle that previous work afforded me, but I was unfulfilled creatively and felt stifled.  I now have a marginally more creative job, but dislike my lifestyle....being away from the things I enjoyed when I started the career I hated.  But that's the way it is with life isn't it.

This blog will get fun...I just wanted to add this because it is what's on my mind and I'm much too lazy and exhausted (I worked today :-( ) to put up my Sephora/ Gilt Groupe haul with pictures tonight...that'll come in the next couple of days.

And so it starts...

This is my first post and it is exciting to get started on this adventure.  As it's my first blog and I would like it to be personal, but not tempt illicit stalkers and their ilk,  I'm going to be anonymous until I can't stand it anymore... or you.  I can assure you it'll either be the former or nothing at all.

Stats
  • I'm a twenty-something living in New York.
  • I'm working at a retail store because I was in finance and quit to get my masters and can't seem to get a full-on career going since.
  • Unattached.
  • Love travelling, tea, beauty, jewelry, gems and anything that sparkles really....oh and handbags. And food...lots of it.
  • I can delve into a bit of makeup.
  • Over the recession. Completely. Over. It. I miss the prosperity (read: decadence) and conspicuous consumption of the noughties.

I think the rest will unravel in time...and isn't it better that way, anyway? So forgive me as I bumble, fumble and work out my voice and blogspot technical scrapes.

I appreciate everyone who will take some time and read and look at these posts of mine.

Tks!
